I have been slacking!!!!

The past two weeks have been SOOO busy that I have been slacking when it comes to this blog. I apologize to you for that, especially since I haven't gotten you the prayer requests. I only have a couple of minutes right now, so let me give you last weeks prayer requests:

Brandy & Danny -- ministry opportunity

Christi -- Carleigh possible mono; unspoken

Joy -- co-workers
Linda -- husband has high PSA #s but tests show no cancer;
Barbara -- mother passed away recently;
Sandy -- mother diagnosed with cancer last week;
daughter has cystic ovaries that may require surgery;
she has been undergoing tests for digestive issues;
Robin -- diagnosed last week with breast cancer
Susie -- father had a stroke last week & tests revealed dementia as well.

Lori -- Inella Stearns -- former grandmother-in-law -- early 90s, fell last week due to dehydration and high blood pressure; will have to have live in help or move into assisted living or with children from here on out.

Lori -- Matt Wesson -- had bicycle wreck on Saturday and brain surgery Saturday night; was released from the hospital Monday afternoon; appears to be doing well

Lori -- Mary Garris (my mother) -- will not use her CPAP as she is supposed to for sleep apnea. The doctor called her today (02/23) to tell her she stopped breathing 26 times in one hour. This constitutes severe sleep apnea. Pray she will get fitted with a new mask and start using it like she is supposed to.

Sorry, ladies!!!!

I want to apologize to all of you for not doing my job this week. I took Thursday off, as well as Friday (had a SS class get together). I intended to work on the study Saturday and get caught up. Well, that didn't happen. Scott Wilson had me at the church working on the new youth room until midnight. I got to church yesterday for SS and didn't leave again until after half-time of the Souper Bowl. Tonight I have a WMLT meeting and then I have to go back to church to work on the youth room. Hopefully we will get everything finished tonight, but don't hold your breath. Maybe I will be able to get something accomplished before tomorrow night.

Sorry!

Hmmm...something to think about

Saw this on a friend's Facebook page. I've done zero research, but the first paragraph struck me as very interesting. It isn't directly related to our study but I wanted to hear everyone's thoughts.

Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow.

One hundred worshippers meeting together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be were they to become "unity" conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship. Social religion is perfected when private religion is purified. The body becomes stronger as its members become healthier. The whole church of God gains when the members that compose it begin to seek a better and a higher life.

Prayer Requests from 02/03

Here are the prayer requests that were given last night. Please lift these up in your prayers this week.

Lori
Edith Fordham - she is the mother-in-law of Andy's uncle. She has been in the hospital for about 3 weeks, initially for pneumonia but now for a variety of other things. She was diagnosed with Sundowners Syndrome, a symptom of dementia. Now the doctors say she has had a stroke and that her kidney's are shutting down. Pray for her daughter, Pat, also. Pat is an only child so she is having to make all the decisions herself.

Lisa Brown - fell from a ladder and had to have over 100 stitches in her head

Sheri Jordan Roberson family - Sheri passed away unexpectedly this week. She was a year ahead of Andy in school

Brandy
Catherine's grades

Brandy has staph infection again

Kim Hester
Tina Edmonds - brain tumor removed 02/01/10; waiting on results

Brad - job!

Brittney Burgess - unspoken

Lane
Vivian Montgomery (Terri at Winn-Dixie's mom), multiple hospitalizations; bed ridden and in a lot of pain.

Mary Hurter - late stage cancer

Charlee
Her brother has recently been kicked out of their parents home, but praise God, has been coming to church.

Many of her co-workers are not Christians and it feels more difficult than usual to speak freely about her faith without being gossiped about.

Robin
Karen Smelley - emergency hysterectomy - unsure if tumor is cancerous; she is home from the hospital now and is recovering.

Watch for more updates later this week.....
